Blogger blocked?

July 17, 2006

I’m unable to reach any blog on the blogger.com. No problems with typepad.com and wordpress.com. However, absolutely no blogs from the blogger.com can be seen. I could reach the Blogger dashboard (http://blogger.com/start) and thats how I am here, trying to post, though I wouldn’t know right now if the post made it to the blog. Some discussions on the web seem to suggest that some ISPs are deliberately blocking blogspot.com. Since, there is no official statement about this blocking, it would be desirable if a proper investigation is made and the findings presented to the public.

The traceroute command on my machine gives the following output-

[rashmi@sanchi rashmi]$ traceroute blogger.com
traceroute to blogger.com (66.102.15.100), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
1 10.88.32.1 (10.88.32.1) 6.023 ms 6.809 ms 15.157 ms
2 10.77.224.1 (10.77.224.1) 9.609 ms 7.766 ms 8.374 ms

I feel a little uneasy and just hope it is some technical problem!

One neat trick explained at Amit Agarwal’s site is to use http://www.pkblogs.com/YOURBLOGNAME

In your case, it would be http://www.pkblogs.com/little-notes

Another option would be to move to a better platform – wordpress 🙂
